The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, through its autonomous body Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), launched the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) — a flagship initiative to channelise India’s youth towards participatory governance and nation-building.

In 2025–26, the programme achieved record participation, demonstrating India’s growing youth engagement in the national development discourse.

🗣️ About the Initiative

VBYLD aims to identify, inspire, and involve young Indians in governance and policymaking to help realise India’s goal of becoming a developed nation (Viksit Bharat) by 2047.

It aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Jan Bhagidari” (People’s Participation) and the 2023 Independence Day call to nurture 1 lakh youth without political backgrounds for entry into public life.


🧩 Structure of VBYLD 2026

🔹 Phase–1: National Quiz Round

  • Conducted online through MY Bharat and MyGov portals.

  • Objective: Spread awareness about Viksit Bharat@2047, governance, innovation, and public policy.

  • Outcome: 50.42 lakh participants from all 28 States and 8 UTs.

🔹 Phase–2: Essay Round

  • 2.56 lakh shortlisted youth invited to write on 10 key national themes in any of 22 scheduled Indian languages.

  • Deadline: 20 November 2025

  • Themes reflect NEP 2020, Amrit Kaal Vision, and Viksit Bharat@2047 priorities.

🔹 Phase–3: State-Level Dialogue

  • Shortlisted essayists present before evaluation panels at State centres.

  • Youth showcase their vision and policy ideas for India’s development.

  • Finalists advance to National Conclaves, forming a network of “Young Policy Leaders.”
